Overview

Motivated by the success of the inaugural Singapore Space Symposium held in 2014 and 2015, EDB and A*STAR I2R will be jointly organizing the Third Singapore Space Symposium (SSS 2016) on 21 September 2016, in one-north.

This 1-day symposium will be an exciting forum with a focus on local space industry and space R&D community. The objectives of the Symposium are:

  • Educate public researchers on the spacecraft bus, payload and operational requirement
  • Create awareness on space industry's direction
  • Profile potential satellite R&D projects to researchers & industry players

The symposium will feature presentations by industries from Singapore and overseas space companies such as ST Electronics, Airbus Defence & Space, Google and THALES Alenia Space as well as researchers in the local space community from A*STAR, NTU and NUS. The invited industrial speakers will share their views on the requirements, challenges, and directions in the space sector, while researchers will focus on their R&D development relevant to the local space industry.

The symposium will also feature a panel discussion on small satellites in the future space industry. The small satellite landscape is rapidly changing with new technologies, innovations and business models bringing extensive disruption. Join our panelists as they discuss the key challenges, opportunities and trends to watch out for in this area.

We look forward to seeing you at the Singapore Space Symposium 2016.
