Overview

The theme for this year's Singapore Space Symposium 2018 is Space Technologies for Smart Cities, in line with our nation's vision to transform Singapore into a digital smart nation through innovative use of satellite platforms.

SSS 2018 serves as a forum for the local space ecosystem comprising academia, research institutions, government entities and industry players to connect and explore collaborative opportunities in sharpening our space technological capabilities.

The keynote address will be delivered by Nanyang Visiting Professor, Emeritus Professor Charles Elachi, who will elaborate on the important topic of remote- sensing from space.

Participants are expected to benefit from the insights of the speakers and panel discussions on how the smart city initiative may be realized through space technologies.

Objectives

  1. Promote research and development activities on the spacecraft bus, payload and satellite applications.
  2. Increase awareness on space industry's direction.
  3. Foster collaboration on satellite technologies between public institutions and industries
