Biography

Dr Hongyuan Zhu is a senior scientist and PI in the Institute for Infocomm Research (I2R), at the Agency for Science, Technology, and Research (A*STAR), Singapore. He is leading the Advanced Perception and Reasoning Lab with a focus in developing autonomous agents with super large-scale multi-modal sensing and reasoning capabilities in environmental monitoring, manufacturing, cybersecurity and defense. He was selected as the top 2% scientist by Stanford in 2023 and 2024. He was the recipient of A*STAR Career Award in 2022. His team won the 1st place winner of Scene2Cap challenge ICCV23, 3rd place of EPIC Text-Video Retrieval Challenge in CVPR22 and the only Asia team as 1st Prize Finalist of KUKA Innovation Challenge 2021.

He is currently the associate editor of Visual Computer since 2020. He also served as the Area Chair of ACM MM Asia, Senior Program Committee of IJCAI, and the Guest Editor of IET Image Processing. Hs has published around 90 top-tier journal and conference papers, such as CVPR, ICCV, NeurIPS, ICML, AAAI, IJCAI, ACL, TPAMI, etc."
