Biography

Mr Kwoh Leong Keong is the Advisor and former Director of the Centre for Remote Imaging, Sensing and Processing (CRISP) at the National University of Singapore (NUS). He joined CRISP in 1992 as Deputy Director and assumed the position of Director in 2000, a role he held until 2025.


Mr Kwoh has over 35 years of experience in remote sensing and satellite technology development From 2024, Mr Kwoh also took up another advisory role at Satoro Pte Ltd. Satoro is a Singapore- registered company specialising in the development of CubeSat buses to support commercial In- Orbit Demonstration and Validation (IOD/IOV) and satellite services.


Mr Kwoh played a key role in the establishment of the CRISP ground station and was deeply involved in the implementation of all its satellite data reception programmes. He was also responsible for the continuous upgrading of the station’s facilities. In addition, he led the development of the ground processing systems for Singapore’s X-SAT and TeLEOS-1 satellites. For the latter, CRISP, as a member of the TeLEOS-1 project team, received the Singapore President’s Technology Award in 2016.
