Biography

Rino Salman is a Research Fellow at the Earth Observatory of Singapore’s Remote Sensing Lab, working with Prof. Sang-Ho Yun. After completing his Ph.D. at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in 2020, where he integrated geodetic data with physics-based models to study earthquake ruptures, he now extends his research to investigate the diverse geophysical processes responsible for Earth’s surface movements. His current work centers on monitoring land subsidence in vulnerable regions in Java, Indonesia, using satellite datasets such as GNSS and SAR observations. The aim of this project is to transform satellite observations into practical tools for hazard assessment and mitigation, thereby supporting geohazard resilience and sustainable development.
